Katriina McGuire is a partner at Schain, Burney, Banks & Kenny, Ltd. practicing in the areas of land use, zoning, governmental relations, developer incentives, and civil litigation.
 
She appears before the City of Chicago and suburban plan commissions, village boards, zoning committees and zoning boards of appeals in matters related to land use and zoning.  She represents clients in matters related to special assessment districts, special service areas, tax increment financing districts and other development incentives.  She has a broad range of expertise, and is able to assist clients with approvals ranging from single-family homes to large-scale commercial and mixed-use developments with complex land use and public/private partnership financing mechanisms.  She has also served as developer’s and underwriter’s counsel for numerous multi-million dollar TIF, special assessment, and special service area bond transactions.

Ms. McGuire also represents clients in the circuit and appellate courts of Illinois regarding a wide range of civil litigation matters, including contract litigation, real estate and land use disputes, fraud, and construction litigation.
 
Ms. McGuire is also fluent in Finnish.
